RPTRA Kalijodo Urban Farm Yields Bokchoy and Butternut Squash

A total of 15.5 kilograms of bokchoy and butternut squash were harvested from urban farming area at RPTRA Kalijodo, located on Jalan Pangeran Tubagus Angke RT 04/05, Angke, Tambora, West Jakarta, on Friday (1/9).

Tambora Sub-district Head, Pangestu Aji, explained that urban farming not only maximizes the use of available land but also serves as an educational platform for making the most of limited urban spaces for cultivation. The urban farming program at this RPTRA has been active for several years.

"In addition to being an educational tool, urban farming here also contributes to building food resilience," he emphasized.

Aji added that, aside from bokchoy and butternut squash, the area is also planted with other crops like timun suri, chili, and various productive plants.

"Today, we harvested 8.5 kilograms of bokchoy and 7 kilograms of butternut squash," he revealed.

Besides the farming space, Aji mentioned that the 5,489-square-meter RPTRA Kalijodo also features various public facilities including sports fields, a playground, a meeting hall, and a library.
